The Elan 32 now has a more powerful motor and is a very capable machine indeed. The rear-mounted grass collector allows access close to walls and under bushes, unlike a front box.

Cylinder mowers slice grass like scissors, so they need less powerful motors than rotaries. This model has 4 blades on its cylinder and slices against a renewable bottom blade. The rear roller, of course, presses the grass in one direction, leaving the traditional stripes for which British lawns are famous. Electric mowers are much quieter than ones with petrol engines.
