The Ranger 48 could be considered as the 4-wheel version of the famous Hayter Harrier 48. The Ranger is suited to rough or fine grass and can be used with or without the collecting bag. A unique friction disc is fitted between the engine and the blade bar so that the blade will slip if it hits a solid object. Hayter are so confident that this will save the crankshaft from bending (a very expensive procedure if it happens) that they give a lifetime guarantee.
There is a safety lever called the Operator Presence Control which you keep depressed during use. It fits snugly into the handlebar and, when you let go, the blade and engine will stop completely within three seconds. Hayter fit modern engines on all their machines, designed to the latest standards for carbon and noise emissions.
Adjusting the height of cut is easy: you just move one lever. The handlebars can be adjusted to a comfortable height.
