The Ranger 53 is a large 4-wheel Hayter mower (next below the Pro in the range) and is capable of serious work. It is suited to rough or fine grass and can be used with or without the collecting bag. You can select any one of four walking speeds to suit the terrain.
A unique friction disc is fitted between the engine and the blade bar so that the blade will slip if it hits a solid object. Hayter are so confident that this will save the crankshaft from bending (a very expensive procedure if it happens) that they give a lifetime guarantee.
There is a safety lever called the Operator Presence Control which you keep depressed during use. It fits snugly into the softgrip handlebar and, when you let go, the blade and engine will stop completely within three seconds. Hayter fit modern engines on all their machines, designed to the latest standards for carbon and noise emissions.
Adjusting the height of cut is easy: you just move one lever. You can adjust the handlebars to the height to suit you.
