The front wheel is mounted on a comparatively high frame, allowing easier passage through long grass. Most people find it best to allow the wheel to pivot, but it can be locked if required.

This deluxe model scores in several ways over the standard version. To allow longer grass to pass under the front of the deck, there is a hinged mechanism which allows the front to lift. The handlebars height can be altered and you can swing them to one side to keep you clear of hedges, etc. Variable forward speed is a useful feature.

This machine copes readily with tussocky, undulating land without (normally) blocking or stalling.
