Protective clothing is very strongly recommended when using a pole pruner. Your head and eyes especially should be protected, as branches can so easily fall on you; and ear defenders protect you in the long term against machinery noise.

This pole pruner makes cutting hard-to-reach branches safer in that you would be standing firmly on the ground. On the other hand, branches cut above your head can fall unpredictably, so please wear head and eye protection and plan your pruning carefully.
The Ryobi Quik-Fire engines are said to be easier to start than older models, and to control unwanted emissions more accurately. They have a hard chrome plated cylinder for long life.
A really useful feature is the way the machine can be quickly split into three parts by loosening the yellow wing nuts, allowing many different Expand-it tools to be fitted when you need them. It helps storage and fitting in your car too.
