This is a capable brushcutter for extensive home use. In the strimming role, nylon line is automatically fed out by simply tapping the spool on the ground. The strimming line will deal with grass and quite coarse weeds but not brambles. Upgrading to a brushcutter, the steel blade can tackle light brush and limited brambles. If you want to use the steel blade a lot, consider choosing the two-handle model Star 36D instead because it will give you greater control.

All brushcutters/line trimmers should be treated with respect. They can throw debris, so never use one near pets or other people. Protective goggles should always be worn, and ear-defenders, gloves and leg coverings are recommended too.
